About Us: The Journey of Brothaz in the Foyer

Our Story: A Meeting in the Foyer of Faith

It all started with a simple invitation from a mutual friend, Yahosh Bonner. We gathered for a monthly lunch, just a group of friends connecting over shared experiences and faith. As we talked, we realized how rare it was to find a space where Black members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints could openly discuss our unique journeys.

A few weeks later, we decided to attend a temple session together. It was a day filled with spiritual reflection and unity. After the session, as we stood in the temple parking lot, something incredible happened. We began to talk—really talk—about our lives, our faith, and the need to normalize the Black experience within the Church. That conversation sparked an idea: Why not create a podcast where we could share these stories, offer support, and build a community?

And so, "Brothaz in the Foyer" was born. What started as a casual lunch and a temple session has grown into a platform for dialogue, understanding, and representation. We are here to bridge the gap between the world outside and the chapel within, inviting others to join us in this sacred space of unity and faith.

Why We Started "Brothaz in the Foyer

The name "Brothaz in the Foyer" is deeply symbolic. The foyer represents a space of transition—a place where diverse voices meet and connect before entering the chapel. Our podcast is that meeting ground, where we can have open and honest discussions about our experiences as Black members of the Church.

We wanted to create a space where these stories could be told, where we could offer support to one another and to our listeners. Through this podcast, we hope to normalize our experience within the Church, break down stereotypes, and invite all to come unto Christ.

Join Us on This Journey

We invite you to step into the foyer with us—whether you're a member of the Church, someone exploring the faith, or simply curious about our experiences. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive community that reflects the true diversity of the Lord's Church.
